clock tick

Travis M

i cant help but feel the clocks ticking.

death is inevitable.

the comprehension of that is a terrible curse.

easy to be at peace in heaven, because that's the final destination.

there no where to go from there, no need for anticipation.

but here now is full of unknowns.

a curious minds greatest foe.

so awake a night i sit.

fearfully watching the clock tick.

WELCOME TRAVIS ~ Thanks for sharing your first poem. Sombre but true because ~ "Time and Tide wait for no Man ~ and catch up with us all in the end !" Life expectancy for the US Male is 76 so it depends where you are on the time line. If you are 50 and in good health ~ you have another 26 years etc. Of course we will all die ~ but personally I don't lie awake at night worrying about it. I'm ready to meet my Maker ~ so when the time comes I'll go in peace. Thanks for sharing ~ please check my poems thanks ~ BRIAN (UK)

No need to fear death if your time is not drawn near quite yet. There is a purpose in life for each in every one of us. No matter how bad the situation seem or how closer the walls may shut you in. There is hope my friend! We will prevail on God's time not man's pocket watch.

      Good read poet.

Thanks for the advice. I guess it does seem witless to focus on man made clocks and calendars, when the true time keeper is god!

Time is always there but it never ends, your spirit goes on to infinity. Good write.
