the thorn bird

willyweed

As a matter of fact, I say it’s all true
She was black that day that I was blue
she came from nowhere on this lonely day
The thorn bird wasn't there
And then she came my way
I didn't know of the thorn bird
But then somehow, I did
She glided in and settled on the sill
She fluttered about and then she sat still
Her dark eyes were knowing
With a sparkly shine
I knew she was free
I felt she was kind
This beautiful morning, this glorious day
The thorn bird made me happy
And then she just
Flew away
That day I was blue
The thorn bird was black
I say it’s all true
As a matter of fact !

Thankjs WILLY we all have THORN BIRDS (and BLUE JAYS & CARDINALS etc) that flit in and out of our lives. I always accept what such transient Birds have to offer ~ but I am always sad when they fly out of my life ! Yours BRIAN

A coincidence or a messenger of hope, sent to lift the spirits? Nature has a way of setting us back onto the path of happiness. Of turning a blue day into a beautiful one. Loved this poem - Phil A.
