His Due

Augustus

Can a soul be severed in two

          willing devil his due

Should rule of Solomon apply,

where does the soul now lie?

Half my ways capriciously spent,

          these paths I fear Hell-bent

Two halves to the same soul? I don't think the soul makes conscience decisions, it's the will of Man that does. It seems to me that there can but one soul (if any) within the human presence. More likely, would be the will of Man being torn between choices in life. A very brief, but thought-provoking piece. Well done. - Phil A.

Alright, boys, let's not get too philosophical. The thoughts express by Augustus are great and very poetic.

I'm too much into realism to follow closely the philosophy discussed above but I still recognise a great piece of writing when I read it - and this is a great piece of writing.

The soul is the Spirit that is within the earthly body, once it is free from the body your Spirit is freed from the the Devil that was in the body. Good write.
