Under the canopy of a tree
I sit everyday to meditate
These thoughts & many come to me
My God you’re wonderful & great
I come everyday to meditate
Trees inspire & comfort us
My God you’re wonderful & great
and always shall be thus
Trees inspire & comfort us
They remind us about life
And always shall be thus
I think of you my winsome wife
They remind us about life
Of many past generations
As I think of you my winsome wife
The rings show off their creation
Of many past generations
They have guarded secrets
The rings show off their creation
Oldest living specimens sequence
They have guarded secrets
The gnarled old Mango trees
Oldest living specimens sequence
Enjoy them before I grow old and sick
The gnarled old Mango trees
These thoughts & many come to me
Enjoy them before I grow old and sick
Under the canopy of a tree

- Comment from author about the poem: If trees can talk, they would tell us many stories. This poem basically wants to convey that idea. I wrote it because I love nature and a tree is such a beautiful creation in which to come and meditate.

DS, I love to write poems and I find myself looking and observing around for subjects to write about. It's funny, I find myself composing phrases as I experience life. I really appreciate your words. They encourage me to write. I want to leave a legacy. I want to impact others with my verses. My heart is sensible and melancholic, that's why I write with such feelings. Thank you for your kinds words. I really, really am encouraged when I read your comments. Thank you!
Superb construction in an absorbing poem.
Thank you Michael for reading my poem and for your comment. I'm encouraged.
Very good write, I was living with nature in this write.
GF, that's great. I'm very appreciative of your kind words and the encouragement you give me to write.
When we meditate, most often we seem to ponder peaceful ideas. Is it human nature that solitude among nature brings peace? Man would learn a lot if trees could talk, maybe how to be at peace. Wouldn't that be great?Loved your poem, always love poems where nature plays a large role. One more thought: Maybe its the size of trees under which we sit that makes us feel safe and secure. Great write. Loved it. _ Phil A.
