Sun's Out

WriteBeLight

At least the sun’s out,

Wasn’t yesterday.

School closings and more,

Not weather for play.

To cold and windy,

For big and little tots.

Snowfall resembled,

Those Dippin’ Dots.

The snow on top,

Of the black ice,

Even four-wheel drive,

Wouldn’t suffice.

But, this morning’s sky,

So clear and blue.

As I look out of,

My frosty window.

Wind chill factor,

Exactly zero.

11 miles per hour,

East wind blows.

Hope that the sun,

Will melt the streets,

Much safer for,

My car’s four feet.

Salt and sand,

Spread by the plows.

Not good for paint,

On my car, at all.

Snow in the winter,

Curtail summer drought.

Try to think of that,

As I shovel out.

For now the bright side,

To dwell in my mind.

For the sun’s out today,

Spring’s not far behind.

yay.! I love this willyweed. already I have been out for an hours walk this morning and the sun is beaming alongside a chilly breeze as I ruffle up the leaves with my feet through the farmers fields. so as winter turns reluctantly to spring the fresh warming air fills our lungs with love.

I hear that the salt tears up the underneath of the cars. Are you in the snow storm? Nicely done.

          • WriteBeLight

Road salt is brutal. This year, even after the snow melt, the roads are white-colored. I was in Jamaica years ago and saw so many pristine classic muscle cars. And, yes. I am in New England, and we are expected to get the worse storm when have had in a long time. People are recalling the 1978 blizzard. Oh well. It is the wind that I cannot stand. 50-60 mph gusts expected as well. Stay warm Augustus and thanks!

!8-20 up your way, a little lighter here. I had thought it might be over. No!! Just nature playing havoc with our plans. Well at least you found a brighter side to it all. I'll try to remember it when I'm out there throwing the stuff around I'll keep saying "No water bans, no water bans." great take on the whole situation. - Phil A.

Thanks Phil and that is right. The winds will be brutal as well. Hope you do not loose power. And, yes. With all of the snow would mean no drought. I hate the droughts we have had. Scary sometimes during the lightening storms. Stay warm Phil and thanks for the comment!
