Fountain of Life

Vena Wolf

This fountain, it shines so bright,

Hidden just beyond in the moonlight.

This water, so crisp and clear,

It gleams and glows with no fear.

This wind, its breeze so soft,

It soon holds us all aloft.

They seek this fountain,

Just beyond thy mountain.

So that perhaps one day,

They may attain a rumoured claim.

For those who have become laim,

For those whom barely hold death at bay.

This fountain, it shines so bright,

Hidden just beyond in the moonlight.

This water, so crisp and clear,

It gleams and glows with no fear.

As anyone whom goes near,

Is who should truly quake in fear.

These weeping tears, they do fall;

Pouring from this water fall.

They weep and cry,

As their souls may never get by.

Of whence they came,

They have soon became;

Just another piece in this game,

That we oh so love to play.

  • Comment from author about the poem: This poem I have written is of the magical fountain of life, or at least that's what people believe from the folk tails. It is believed to heal those who have fallen ill or have been severely injured. However, as they arrive with their loved ones and drink from the fountain they find their souls to be trapped within it, their tears flowing as the water they had once drank.

    WELCOME BROOK ~ Thanks for your first poem ~ powerful ! An enigmatic poem with an interesting twist ~ the "Fountain of Life" in effect morphs into the "Fountain of Entrapment and Death". In my experience a lot of things in LIFE & LOVE are like that ~ entrapments. We have to walk carefully in the 21st C ! Thanks for sharing ~ Yours BRIAN (UK) Please check my poems ~ Thanks B.

      Dear Brian, please call me Vena as that is what I\'d like to be known as through my poems though I will not hide my true name as you can see in my bio. I have checked around 15-20 of your poems though I still have plenty to read, I see. Though, I must say, I do like your work though my favorite's are the ones that are a little longer. I hope that perhaps you'll like the poems that I plan on posting as I still have 5 that I have yet been able to post. Yours truly, Vena❤
