Picture this.
Think of this.
Just for a moment. I promise you'll like it.
You have been away from home for awhile,
The trip was great, I bet
This is your last day here.
Tomorrow arrives, you take the bus home, catch a cab, ride with a friend
You get to you call "home"
You walk inside, opening the door,
And relief, comfort, and ease instantly set in.
You take a deep breath,
The smell of dust, the rustling sound of the broken heater,
And finally dropping your bags on the ground and laying on your bed,
Finally home.
Now safe.
You are my home
I am home, when I'm with you.
The day you decide to go outside for a walk,
The first day you have free,
The first day of Spring,
You open the door,
Walk out, step on the fresh dewy grass,
Feel the sun, reaching to touch you,
The perfect breeze, a boost of calm.
Hear the birds in conversation.
The families, each different sizes and shapes.
Makes you grateful for the beauty of nature.
Pure happiness.
You make me pure; happy,
You are the calm and gentle breeze that lays against my cheek,
You are the sunbeam that makes me feel warm, makes sure I'm not chilled
You are the bird, sweetly singing my name.
You are my home.
You are my happiness.

Thanks IZZY ~ This poem is as beautiful as you are ! It reminds me that wherever I am in the World (i have touched all SEVEN CONTINENTS) there is a place I call home and I'm not AT HOME until I am back there where my loved ones are. You poem suggests it not just a place ~ or people it's both. There are people ~ Family & Special Friends and an extra-special Friend (who I would die for !). She is my HOME ~ She is my HAPPINESS !
