The Weight Has Been Lifted Poem, by amorvan, at My poetic side

There is not a thing in this world, with you I cannot do

There's not a trial I cannot rise above when I put my trust in you

When you say walk, I will walk, when you say go, Lord I will go

I'll do so for your glory, I want this world to know

No matter what you've done, how far you think you've strayed

In the depths of brokenness, with you our Lord has stayed

I questioned this myself, I'm beyond redeemable I'm sure

He cannot surely love me, faith in Him was so obscure

But them I came to realise what He did and why he came

To die for us and set us free from our sin, our disease and shame

Transforming from the inside, reflecting on the outside

I let go on my hate and anger and my foolish pride

Instead of wondering what I get, I seeks to find what I can give

Those people in my past who'd hurt me, I know I now forgive

For so long I felt the heaviness, but slowly it has shifted

I laid down all the pain inside and now the weight has now been lifted

Don't think that you can't do something, if God says you can, you can

He never gives you more than you can cope with, he has a sovereign plan

A plan to prosper not to harm, a future full of hope not of gloom

Trust in him, give him your all and like a flower you will bloom

We may not know why, or even understand

By faith I'm trusting God has everything in hand
