WHY ?

BRIAN & ANGELA

JESUS WHO WAS SINLESS ~ BECAME SIN FOR US

THAT WE MIGHT BE MADE RIGHTEOUS IN GOD'S SIGHT

Every year at EASTER

We ask the question ~ WHY ?

WHY was JESUS crucified ?

The LORD of EARTH and SKY

The BIBLE gives the answer

This was GOD's own way

To redeem the Human Race

Who had gone astray !

For each one CHRIST has suffered

The Just for the Unjust

To be reconciled to GOD

Believe in CHRIST we must

All our iniquities ~ on Him were laid

He bore them on Calvary's Tree

JESUS the debt of our sin fully paid

HE paid the ransom for me !  AMEN

  • Comment from author about the poem: GOD is our CREATOR and He loved the HUMAN RACE so much ~ that He sent His only Son ~ The Lord Jesus Christ ~ to live a sinless life on Earth and then die for us on a CROSS in AD 33 in Jerusalem ~ just outside the City Wall. He died that we might be forgiven ~ He died to make us good ~ That we might go at last to Heaven ~ Saved by His precious blood ! This is the GOSPEL of JESUS CHRIST who died on the Cross to atone for our sins and enable each one of us to have a new relationship with GOD. I know I have been redeemed by the precious blood of CHRIST ~ shed for YOU & I ~ almost 2000 years ago on the Cross at Calvary ~ AMEN ~ Comments welcome ~ Easter Love to All ~ BRIAN XOX

Thank you for sharing this poem Brian.
A busy, sad and happy time starts. I am on duty at my our Church for three of the Services this weekend ending with the Easter Service when Our Lord rose form the grave and gave us our faith.

Thanks BROTHER ~ Christmas & Easter are equally important in GOD's unfolding Drama of Salvation without the INCARNATION there could be no ATONEMENT. However I do feel that in the Press and on Secular sites (like MPS) Christmas gets a lot more coverage than Easter. This is one reason why I have already posted a few poems relating to the Death & Ressurection of our Saviour ~ The Lord Jesus Christ ! I am encouraged that Spiritual Poetry is welcomed and supported on this site. Thanks for your comments. Yours BRIAN

Thanks Brian. This shows your true faith. It occurred to me again, how that 'religion' in itself caused the troubles to start - though all as Scripture foretold. Of course, Christianity is one religion, but not hypocritical, etc as the Pharisees. They got Jesus' stern words - you snakes. etc!

Thanks "O" for your perceptive comment. As a an Evangelical Christian I see myself as Spiritual but not religious. Today there is a lot more cooperation between "Orthodox" Christian Denominations than there was ~ historically ~ in the past. There is only One Lord ~ Jesus Christ ~ One Faith ~ One Baptism and one Book ~ The BIBLE. This is the basis for Unity and in an age when Christianity is under threat ~ we all need to stand together to optimise our opportunities for Evangelism and Community work. We all try our best not to be Pharisaical ~ Yours BRIAN

Hi Bri. I understand. I don't mean this as hair-splitting, or arguing over words. Many people just call it 'religion' but are sincere and true. Not that they're misguided. We know the events of Easter got caught up with 'religious' leaders, as we know, who were Pharisees, Sadducees, etc at that time.
I found it strange when I heard in some sermons - we should be too 'religious'!
Also, one Prayer Book says 'Guide us in true religion'.

A time of sadness and ultimate happiness - what a Redeemer the human race has - thank you for sharing this good news Brian.

Thanks FAY for your encouraging comments ! EASTER is indeed a mixture of AGONY (Low in the grave he lay .......) and ECSTASY (Up from the grave He arose ..........) However for me it is all the angst that established the authenticity of the NT account of the Life ~ Death ~ Ressurection and Ascension of our Redeemer ~ the Lord Jesus Christ ~ Your B.

Great job reminding us of the importance of this occasion Brian!

Thanks HONEY ~ I'm just trying to promote the TRUTHS about EASTER to the same extent as we promote CHRISTMAS ~ both are equally important ~ you can't have the one without the other ! Easter Hugs ~ BRIAN
