Wake-Up Call.
The comforting warmth of another
breathing alongside,
closed eyes,
drowsily gliding
over waves
of sensuous dreams,
untidy covers
askew with contented
sonorous sighs.
Competing with birdsong at dawn
palls a little
when wet lips and cold nose
lather your ears
in a pawing ecstatic four-footed
wake-up call.
Pets never sleep where they should.

Breath is felt well with warmness alongside of love and affection. Sensuous dreams in untidy way cover emotion. Pets never sleep. We hear their calls. They call us to wake up. An amazing poem is nicely crafted and shared.
Afraid I have no love for cats but do love dogs so - yes - I can appreciate the poem - which is another corker Fay
Ah - same here really Michael - I am a dog lover too - - I shall change the picture to another four-pawed friend.
Cats are like that, but very comforting creatures and a lot less trouble 🙂
Good write but I too am not keen on cats.
Yes - not keen on cats is winning and shall now change the picture dear Goldie -and hope you enjoy the verse a bit more.......... ha ha .....
Thanks Fay, I wouldn't harm them but I try to attract birds into the garden (feathered ones) and cats can be so cruel to them.
