Suffering Saviour

Fits tune: Crucifer

('Lift high the cross')

**********

Chorus

We praise you Lord, your passion we recall

You died and rose again, for one and all

There in the garden, dark Gethsemane

You prayed and pleaded to Father for me - Chorus

There for me you sweat blood in agony

That mankind be redeemed, and so set free - Chorus

Your Father's will you sought and not your own

Your love, obedience there to Him shown - Chorus

Let pass this cup of suffering if you will

Father, but I desire what you will still - Chorus

Through depths of pain, griefs, sorrows you did know

Way to forgiveness and new life did show - Chorus

So strengthened there by angel, garden prayer

Nothing did halt you, you our sins did bear - Chorus

Onwards to cross, you gave your life for all

That all may be saved, whoe'er on you do call - Chorus

Cross not the end, for glorious you did rise

You in our hearts, e'en though you fill all skies - Chorus

Grant us our cross to here daily uptake

Denying self, and living for your sake - Chorus

Heal us and comfort, ever may we see

Cross before crown, working redemptively - Chorus
