Daft Enough to Die

Garry

If I were daft enough to falter
and die next Tuesday week
would anyone
be kind enough to care?

And if it were on Wednesday
when they laid me down to rest
would it just be me and t’ vicar
who were there?

For me I'd wait until Friday - I'm doing a watercolour demonstration for a local art group on Thursday and I'd want time to cash the cheque before I pop my clogs. Great couple of stanzas.

      Now that's good. Thank you.

      I like this Gary,
      You and me both
      How the mind
      Works that is...
      The most unusual
      Thoughts go through
      My head at the most
      weird times... I've just
      Posted some while
      Waiting for Chinese
      Takeaway....
      There won't be anyone
      At my funeral Gary,
      As I'm gonna live forever
      Ha ha ha...

Living forever. God that would be awful wouldn't it ?

The body might go but our Spirit lives on to infinity.

        Good write.
