Gnossienne.

Goldfinch60

I came quietly down the stairs,

Sat down with dawns early light,

Put on the radio

And the almost silent sound greeted me,

The almost silent sound of Satie.

The piano gently playing

Bringing my day to a gentle start.

I sit here writing these words

In the hope that peace and tranquillity

Will stay with me this day

The music was by Eric Satie, Gnossienne No 1.

    A fine write.

  • Michael Edwards

He certainly wrote some really superb piano pieces sadly much of his work overlooked by his famous Gymnopedie - well complemented by your verse.

Thank you Michael, yes he wrote some wonderful pieces of work but as you say he is only known for one of his three Gymnopedie.
