Every day you strive,
Strive to climb further,
Further up the ladder,
The ladder of life,
That life which is yours.
You are always striving,
Striving towards your dreams,
Those dreams to which you aim
May be unattainable,
But always work towards them.
Sometimes though just stop,
It can be good to stop climbing
Stop climbing and look back
Look back at the view
Appreciate that view
The view from right where you are.

As long as I'm not up a literal ladder. I would get vertigo and fall off if I looked back then! Good write.
With pushing on, etc, there's the ridiculous matter of 'giving 110% - always impossible of course!
Always striving towards a goal is always possible, the impossibility could be in reaching that goal but it is the trying that is the more important.
So well put - yes appreciate the now and the view from where you are but always make sure there are rungs to be climbed - the moment you stop looking forward there can be no enjoyment left in life.
Thank you Michael and very true.

Thanks Garry, sometime we are too busy looking ahead to see what we have achieved in the past.
Don't need to look ahead or back. Just syop and appreciate.
Good advice and so neatly written - thanks for sharing this suggestion to look back more often my friend.
Thank you Fay.
nice write GF and good advise where we been, where we are, help us appreciate where we are going.
Thank you WW and very true.
It reminds me of the approach of how, when one reaches a goal, they want to keep on trying to reach more. But, it is good advice to stop and appreciate what has already been accomplished. Great thoughts here Goldfinch.
Thank you WBL.
It would be impossible to count all the ways that you've helped me by leading with this piece. Thank you so much for all that you've done — I only hope I can return the favor sometime in the future.
I am always here and will always listen. Thank you for your kind thanks.
