Fits tune: Cruger
('Hail to the Lord's Anointed')
Based on part of Psalm 7
**********
In you Lord I put my trust
Who am but small and dust
But save me in your mercy
My persecutors see
Deliver me, lest trouble
Overtake me and be
Like lion that my soul tears
Conscienceless without cares
I ask not if me guilty
My soul to here set free
Yet search me, come forgive me
My heart, my mind, you see
Arise Lord, in your anger
Your righteous wrath do stir
For you shall judge us truly
Your favour shall we see
O let the wicked deeds end
The dove of peace now send
And the just, right, establish
Fulfil their goodly wish
For you the righteous God try
The hearts, there stands no lie
Before you, for you view all
Reins, conscience of great, small
And so your judgements righteous
You do perform, though bless
The upright, those who seek you
Come to them as blessed dew
But daily you are angry
With the wicked, they be
Unable to escape, for
He sees all their deeds sure
But hope is if they then turn
And from Him they shall learn
Though if continue sinful
They under wrath dreadful
Yet love, mercy avails still
If they repent, they will
Share in His whole salvation
Christ's redeeming work done
As for me I shall Him praise
His name extol and raise
Shall praise Him, He is righteous
My heart and voice confess
He Lord of all the nations
Though all evil He shuns
He shall come to us, help us
Great God, you shall us bless

A fairly old clip from Christmas Eve 1961 originally! The original hymn was based on Psalm 72.
Thanks STEPHEN ~ a very inspiring hymn and poem. In our Evening Service (6:30 ~ 8:00 pm) we often sing these Victorian hymns ~ the Words are very reverential and I like your version ~ beautiful ! I will use it as a recitation in one of the services. In the Morning service (11:45 ~ 12:00 noon) we have the Youth Band and Modern Spring Harvest Hymns and lots of kids & teens ! In the evening we just have the Organ (LOWRY) and Keyboard and the audience is generally 30 + The TEENS go to an Inter~church Youth Service in Town ! Thanks for caring & sharing ~ Blessings BRIAN
Thanks Brian. You probably have a music licence, what with me 'pinching' the tunes of hymns! I can't always get on with modern, though I understand youth probably wouldn't sing Victorian era songs all the time! Yet older folk may not always want, "and now the lesser-subdued 'hymn': 'I wanna scream it out from every mountain top'!" heehee.
Good write Orchi.
