You Loved Me

RebeccaRose.x

You loved me once

How did that change?

We went from being so in love

To one another crumbled up in pain

You loved me once

I know its true

You told me and showed me

And that's when I fell inlove with you

You loved me once

In your eyes I used to look like gold

But then you started to see me rust

And all of A sudden I just seemed old

You loved me once

Not that you'd admit

You act as if you never cared

Of course I act nonchalant but it still hurts me a bit

You loved me once

You never will again

The time has moved us apart

One thing I used to Cherish with you

But now its just so dark

You loved me once

I loved you too

We both gave all we had

And now I get to look back to you

A fine romance that was ours to Last

WELCOME REBECCA (lovely name) Thanks for your first poem. It is a very nostalgic "Love Poem" lovely poetic structure but a sad message. Repetition is very important in poetry and the first line ~ repeated in each verse "You loved me once" tells me it is all over ~ the love you once shared has evaporated. I'm a bit older than you and I have always learned something from all my love liaisons. My philosophy is: "Better to have loved and lost ~ than never to have loved at all !" Every blesing ~ thinking of you ~ Yours BRIAN Please check my poems ~ Thanks B.
