C A R N I V A L !

BRIAN & ANGELA

 

 

CARNIVAL comes but never comes to stay

So take advantage while it's here ~ for soon

It will pack up to move ~ and move away

It comes (mysterious at night) and leaves at NOON !

 

GIRLS in pink tights ~ jumping through flaming hoops

And Clowns prance round ~ red nosed and outsized boots

And Jugglers stand juggling their balls in groups

And Seals with trumpets blowing raucous hoots !

 

It only came to town a week ago

The Horses and the Acrobats I grieve 

The week too fast sped past ~ my heart beats slow

Now for another year ~ my CARNIVAL is make believe !

        Thanks ANDY ~ I love to visit Circuses ~ Fun Fairs ~ County Shows etc always good (clean) fun. We sometimes are allowed to have a Bible Stall at a Carnival ~ always a lot of interest ~ Yours BRIAN

          Thanks CHRIS ~ We generally have travelling Circuses & Fairs at Easter & Whit & in the Summer. We also have "County Shows" with Horse Jumping and Cattle ~ Sheep ~ Flower & Bird shows etc !

            I must say that your profile picture sent me to believe of religious connotations, which would not be bad, I myself love God, only that He is sometimes badly represented, and I am bored by such 'advisers.
            It is clear that you are a well read writer, and I wonder if you have published any book with your poems. I will be reading more from you; I must especially appreciate 'Carnival, as you send me to my passion, 'anime. Rarely does one paint with words, but you indeed impose an image upon the reader. Beautiful!

              Thanks LYDIA ~ I am a Spiritual Person which was why I chose a DOVE as my Avatar ~ OK You will observe that many of my poems have a Spiritual Content especially on a Sunday which are paraphrases on the Psalms. There are some good Spiritual poems om MPS (not all boring !) and what i like ~ is they are never ridiculed as they are on some sites. My poems (I think) have a good mix of Spirituaal & Secular. I chose the visual for this one because it does have the "glam" anime image which i associate with "Show Girls". I also find ANIME GIRLS awesome and i might post a poem about them. I always try to illustrate my poems (as does Fay) but they are also Tone Poems and (as you say) "impose an image upon the reader". I value each of your comments ~ they help me to evaluate ~ "Pleasure through Poetry !" Yours BRIAN :o)
