Setting Sun

emilymitts

Gold sun sets, its rays blindly flashing
The colors painted on a barren sky
Its beauty unforetold, nonexistent matching
Too magnificent for naked eye.

Horizon covering its art once clear
The sunset's melted away.
No matter what, do not fear
It will return another day.

  • Comment from author about the poem: I wrote this while listening to Santo and Johnny, an older pair of brothers who made music together. Their sound just reminded me of a sunset, so I decided to write something about it!

Sunsets are so much better than those overbearing sunrises . Every sunset leaves a gift of twilight when it goes away .
