This set out initially to be a funny poem but something happened along the way
I used to have two goldfish
But one got sick and died
It happened on a Monday
And made me sad inside.
The other went on Tuesday
It was eaten by the cat
I simply threw the bowl away
And really that was that.
Peter was my hamster
I kept him in a cage
On Wednesday I got angry
And squashed him in a rage
I also had a rabbit
In the garden in her run
On Thursday I was.bored
So I killed her just for fun
Then on Friday I get nervous
And I don't feel too good.
The only thing that calms me down
Is the sight and smell of blood
It's the weekend when thingshappen
Just my dad being friendly, see
But then he brings his mates around
And they're not kind to me.

- Comment from author about the poem: Meant to be funny along the lines of "Solomon Grundy born on Monday...." But it went horribly dark instead.

He is writing it on Friday. So tense is fine, isn't it?
Dark as dried blood .
That's dark. Thank you. I think i am about to rework the "Friday" verse following Ephraim's correct observation.
Quite like the friday and weekend verses. Thank you for the input. Really appreciate seeing how other minds work. Cheers. G
I laughed so much. This is my kind of poem. Wicked.
Glad it made you laugh. I presume you mean the first few verses?
No the whole thing did.
Interesting. Did you not think the last verse,a vit dark for laughing? (i think iit is all quite funny despite the darkness)
What do you think the last verse is about?
no I just thought it was you showing the character descending into raving loony madness but because of the beginning part I kind of dismissed it as being the characters end result.
Good a reason as any. Thank you for you comments. I enjoyed reading them.
Any time, I hope I made some sense.
Indeed you did. More sense than the poem.
