The Shadow of my Passing

Garry

Let the shadow of my passing
cast no darkness on the day
For we live each moment
Only once
then move blithely
on our way.

  • Comment from author about the poem: It seems most people think this is about death, (my death and wishful thinking?) and originally it was going to be with a first line of "let the sadness..." but i thought this too dismal for such a sunny day. And changed it be more optimistic and general about our passage through life being light and trouble free. Did it work i wonder.
