Truth
No matter what I do, no matter what I say,
I believe I will always feel the same way.
Even if I cry, beg or scream,
my reality will never be my dream.
They say talking is the key,
but are they really that blind to see?
If a person cannot even leave their base,
what good will it do talking face to face?
Have you even been through the same?
you dont know my story, just my name.
And that name will obviously mean nothing to you,
I understand that, believe me I do.
But I want you to look at me,
truly look, tell me what do you see?
as I am sure our output wont be the same,
your life is serious whereas mine is a game.
you have to play yourself, I can only trust me,
you have to know when its time to set yourself free.
Letting down and falling under, thats expected,
but as I stand here today, I know the truth needs to be elected.

Welcome FRIEND ~ Thanks for you first poem ~ and thanks for sharing you thoughts with us all on MPS' This is a very empathetic site and many of our Members have experienced DEPRESSION and other issues relating to MENTAL HEALTH. I work with 16+ students and many of them share their problems with me including lack of self esteem self harming etc. We all care and we all try to understand and support. Your poem is excellently presented (I love rhyming couplets) and you pose a lot of questions. We all have our own level of existance and self esteem in our Society and Community ~ but we all need help and support to enable us to achieve our optimum. One of the functions of MPS is for us to post poems ~ ask questions ~ and receive comments. I trust some of the comments you get will be helpful. thankyou, to me this is the only way i can express myself without resorting to self harm anymore, i guess its good for people who are going through similar or the same to know that theres others going through it aswell. it certainly saved me a fair few times ill say that much
