SEVERAL times each day ~ I pray to my GOD ~ for
STRENGTH and courage for my daily walk in the Spirit
SURELY I often wept in frustration ~ and my GOD
SUPPORTED me in my times of trouble !
SURELY what my GOD has done for me ~ He can
SURELY do for you as well ! Pray to Him ~ He is your
SHEPHERD and his Guidance is available to ALL who
SEEK His Love and Protection ~ AMEN !
SINCE GOD has been my Saviour and Guide ~ I have
SENSED His presence ~ through Prayer and Peace ~ When I
SUFFER I find GOD helps me to recover ~ I am a
SERVANT of my GOD and rejoice to do his will
SURELY Goodness and Mercy will follow me in Life and Love
STEADFASTLY day by day until I meet MY GOD in GLORY !

- Comment from author about the poem: The BOOK of PSALMS in the Old Testament is a wonderful collection of 150 Spiritual Poems written by Men but each one is inspired by GOD ! There are 150 Psalms and I read one each day ~ in order ~ so in a year I read each Psalm twice ~ and some three times ! My Sonnets are paraphrases based on verses from the Psalms. Reading a "Psalm each Day" provides me with Guidance from God and great Peace of Mind at the beginning of each day ~ why not try it for yourself ! Good one Brian - another form to add to my list of poems what I must write.
Thanks MICHAEL ~ every Poem has both FORM & FUNCTION both are equally important. Some of the poems on MPS do have (some) Rhyme & Rhythm but are written a Blank Prose which is a pity. I encourage New Poets to write their compositions in Poetic Form because that puts the mind into poetic receptive mode ~ BRIAN
I have been studying the book of Psalms for the last two months now . It is packed full of wisdom and knowledge everyone should use and put to practice . It is always gratifying to see someone doing the same as me for it gives me hope for the world . Than you Brian for these inspiring words .

A fine write B. Every word of mine, after me mad moments of sherry-drinking (fantasy of course. lol) begin with S too. As in 'Shumthing shows here, that is a sthunning write. I wish I would sthop sherry-drinking'! Good acting too, innit? heehee.
Erm, it can depend also, which number Psalm you are reading. e.g. 88 is 'dark'; 109 is somewhat hellfire and damnation to enemies. Then sweet as light, e.g. 23, 145. And so on. I did a written 'discourse' of rhyming 'said' poem of Psalm 119. It clocked up 3,500 words!
