I cried today for the first time since you left
It came out of nowhere, yet everywhere
I got in the car and turned on the stereo
A normal day of normal ups and downs
Pulling out of the drive to go get medicine for the kids
At the intersection the light was red
It was dark, the streets lighting the night
Heavy by Linkin Park started to play on the radio
Heavy...everything started to get so heavy
Holding it all in became almost impossible
I broke, everything in me pouring out
It's just a typical day, no different than any other
Except...you're not here
Why does everything seem so much harder to carry
You're not here to hug me
To let me know that everything is okay
Time is precious and irreplaceable
And yet I can't help but want it to pass by quickly
To have you back in all the most selfish ways
But I can't, all I can do is wait
All I can do is try and hold on to everything
But right now, I'm going to cry

Crying is the body's mechanism of returning your body back to correct chemical level after stress or shock has disrupted it . Tears are full of excesses that the body needs to be rid of . That's why we say a good cry is good for you .
