"Find a man that ruins your Lipstick,
Not your mascara" They say.
From being a young girl,
I waited for that day.
But why can't it be both?
The baseline from downstairs drowns out my pleas,
The idea of the upcoming events brings me to my knees,
Running mascara mingles with the tears,
Dampening the hand that holds in my fears.
Silence.
That's all he wants to hear.
All thoughts, all hesitations turn into a dull ache,
No resistance as my heart feels fit to break.
With a gin sodden voice, "I love you" he said.
Did you love me when you forced me into bed?
The same man I gave my trust,
The man that tore down every single wall,
He ruined my mascara, my lipstick,
He ruined it all.

WELCOME JASMINE (lovely fragrant name !) Thanks for your first Poem about RUSHED & RUINED LOVE ! My MUM told me to be gentle and slow with Girls and to let them dictate the pace and stages of LOVE ! That works for me and my Lovers ! It seems the Man you describe acted more like an APE than an ANGEL ~ it seems he was advised by His Dad and not His Mum 1 When will they ever learn ? Loved the ups and down in your poem ~ more please. Thanks for your Vanilla Poem in my Ice Cream Fusion ~ YUMMY ! Yours BRIANX
Thank you for complimentongoing my name (all credit given to my mum as I didn't really have a choice in the matter) but yes I agree to many guys rush the physical side of love and don't focus on the emotional and spiritual connection that us women crave. Thank you for the compliments
Much love
Jasmine x
Good write, some men cannot see beyond the physical side of any relationship, for me the mind and soul are much more meaningful. Welcome to MPS.
Yes you are completely right. The day a man cares about my brain and heart as well as my body, maybe then I'll walk down the aisle.
you have written well jasminex
