Having Self consciousness and Self doubt

P.H.Rose

Having Self consciousness  and self doubt.

Self conscious and doubt,
is never about the truth.
Is not something solely, contributed to youth.
I am six foot three and
weigh 238 pounds,
but sometimes feel so small,
In my every day surrounds.
The way I look and feel,
sound and am portrayed.
Doesn't help my confidence,
for it is then delayed.
The smallest of criticism,
Makes all my cards then fall,
Doesn't take that much,
For me to meet my wailing wall.
These feelings that both young and old have to the bitter end.
Is not something you'd want to give, even to your poorest friend.
After 57 years I've learned to put it in a store,
All this negativity, behind a closed and locked big door.

There is no need to doubt yourself, you have managed all these years so you are doing ok.

      It I should something
      That is always there
      In the back ground
      Rears its head on
      Occasion, we all
      Have our crosses
      To bear..

A fine write PHR. Times of short (or long?) self-consciousness, then back to 'normal'?!

When you get a response from
                A talented poet as yourself
It is such a shot of confidence
