FIVE THIRTY PM
Low clouds,
rumbling, releasing
black teardrops
on dripping umbrellas,
that hover like lilies
above the wet walkways
reflecting red neon
and yellow street lighting
as head-down commuters
jostling and bustling
seek out their shelter
in crowded mass transport
that empties the city.

Nice poem to start off this day, Michael! Very descriptive phrases.
Good write. Been there!
Like the artwork.
Descriptive image , coming down , going out . As life goes on in a never ending cycle .
A fine write and pic M.
Nice city-scape piece Michael. Well done.
Thanks everyone - many of us have been there, done that.
Very descriptive, love it
I'm in Houston to now. Talk about mass transit. We had black raindrops in Southern California. The rain would cleanse the smog for a few hours.
A simple moment in time, yet so poetically expressed
Thanks so much - I really appreciate that you are looking into the archives - sometimes commenting on past work which I had forgotten. Thanks again Suresh.
I get to read the works I have missed, and the pleasure of getting a new perspective
