The Cook.

Goldfinch60

The oil goes in the pan,

And my love goes in with it.

As I prepare the meal I wonder,

I wonder what will it be this time?

Will it be an Italian dish

Full of reds and greens

With tomatoes and basil?

Or will glorious spices

Create the smell of India

With the yellow richness showing through?

I never know,

I never plan until I stand in the kitchen,

But in any dish that I make

It will be always have two things in it,

My passion for cooking,

And as ever,

It will be seasoned with love.

How about a nice fillet of pan fried salmon on a bed of mushroom risotto and a white wine and prawn sauce, with a fresh salad on the side, oh no sorry, that is what we had on Saturday it will be cold roast lamb and Jersey Royal potatoes tonight!

Never eaten in McDonalds - I do love good food. Even today's menu sounds great - will there be fresh mint and butter on those Jersey Royals? Even better with a bit of salt and pepper seasoning - I grind ours with the mortar and pestle ad always some to hand. Just come in from the garden - had to tie up the fennel - it was bending right over in the wind.

            • Goldfinch60

Once I went to MacDonald\'s many, many years ago and I swore I would never go again. The Jersey Royals were the first that I had this year so just put some freshly ground salt snd black pepper on them with lashings of butter.
