SUSPICION

Michael Edwards

SUSPICION

With pendulum sweeps her eyes looked round

and with a sigh of desperation

she knew the hands of time were near

and slowly moved by providence

unsure if he would call again

in this her chosen place of refuge

recognising time decrees

suspicion lies in secret places.

    Good write, cracking last line.

A red telephone kiosk eh? Don't see many of those around now.

Not many - one in our town was removed by BT and there was such an uproar they brought it back. It's not connected but is used by the Town in Bloom volunteers as a central 'office' for their leaflets etc.

Mysterious and provocative this verse with its painting to match and oh -
Michael those final lines must surely produce a sequel. Another great read.

You never know Fay - I am so short of material will probably give it all break while my brain cells remuster.

Good poem, Michael, but I love the painting. Well done.

        Suspicion plus a woman's intuition,
Lethal combination. Love the water color.

        Great write, love the picture

I love the repetitive references to time (pendelum , hands of times , times decrees) reiterating the importance of the here and now . And when the time does not add up it creates "suspcion" .

Good watercolor painting (I believe it is watercolor) . The way colors seep into and blend with each other is unique to that technique .
