midnight mass

willyweed

O Memories of Christmas Eve
A long long time ago

A cathedral in the city
In the evening In the snow

Your hand in mine The choir sang
The bells began to chime

Midnight mass It is our last
But how were we to know

That Christmas day I went away
Went marching off to war

I returned Dead and burned
A rose upon my grave

A lonely tear rolled down your face
My darling Please don't cry

Always and forever
We will be together

Our love will never die

Miss your beautiful poetry. Great piece. We had quite a number of tributes that weekend. Another one is certainly appreciated, especially by those who gave their lives. Hugs.

you poem was so sad and I can feel the pain. It is hard when someone is lost in a war.
