Considering my life in retrospect,
Certain things become clear
To the soul ...
There is quiet satisfaction
In good outcomes of
Some acts,
But the greatest satisfaction
Lies in acts not taken ...
This time around.

This shows you have wisdom. Whats been in your past enables you to avoid pitfalls ahead. Or maybe just 'less is more'.
As a musician i learned that when soloing, the gaps between the notes are just as important as those notes themselves. Plenty of opportunity to show off how many notes i can play.... or.. play something meaningful instead. Good work.
It seems your experience as a musician has taught you wisdom as well. We learn by living, don't we.
As my son often says 'Procrastination is a virtue'
How so often true! Thanks for the comment, Michael.
Love your poem. You are saying A LOT in these nine short lines. Every action has a re-action. Choosing not to act is also an action with a re-action, but a different one.
How many times did I regret having done or said something. No action would have been so much better!
How very true that is. I believe we are given many lives to learn this hard lesson. Thanks, Fred.
Yes Louis, and in my next life I will probably be a gnat!
A clever conclusion to keep in mind Louis - it is the acts not taken that count.
I wholeheartedly agree, Fay. Thanks for reading and your comment.
Good write, we all feel better if we do not do some things in our lives.
The not-doing can be challenging at times, can't it? But well worth it in the long run.
Whatever we do in life is fine. As long as we try and you are an ace in my book. Great poetry. Keep writing
I fully agree, As they say ... 'It's all good'. Thank you for this good review of my work!
You are very welcome and I am looking forward to reading more
