1. Love of God, John did full proclaim
Love of Jesus, Saviour's name
Love of the Spirit, in union
With the Father and the Son
Lift our hearts that we may praise you
And our minds daily renew
2. Christ they saw in human person
He redemption work has done
Fully human, fully divine
Born of God, of David's line
Seen and heard and touched here on earth
Bringing souls to true new birth
3. Here is love, 'tis not we first loved
But God to us He encoved (encovenanted)
Showed us first love while still sinners
Mercy, grace, on us confers
So our response, to Him our love
Inspired by the Spirit, dove
4. Eternal life to us promised
Lord, grant this we have not missed
Life is as we you, your Son know
He the Way, Truth, Life did show
That we may be saved for ever
Departing from Him never
5. Love here shown in word and action
Shown, revealed, unto each one
Love in giving and receiving
All our lives to you we bring
Asking humbly your anointing
Pour upon our every thing
