Bounteous Blessings

Fits tune: St Helen

('King of Kings and Lord eternal')

Psalm 103 v.1 - 14

*******

1. Bless the LORD, O my soul, Him praise

Songs, melodies, to Him raise

And all that is here within me

Bless His holy name, strong, free

Bless the LORD O my soul, Him sing

Let the earth with praises ring

2. Forget not all His benefits

He who throned in heaven sits

Who forgives all your sins, He is

Who heals all your diseases

Who redeems your life and crowns you

With lovingkindness, grace too

3. And with tender mercies to you

He does help you, and renew

Satisfies your mouth with good things

Youth like eagle's He you brings

Executes righteousness, judgements

For all oppressed, confidence

4. He made His ways known to Moses

His will, not mere supposes

And His acts to Israel's people

They did unto Him then call

The LORD merciful and gracious

Comes with favour unto us

5. He is slow to anger, mercy

Has he plenty, kind He be

He will not chide with endeavour

Not keep His anger ever

He has not dealt with us after

Our sins, but mercy prefer[s]

6. For as heaven high above earth

So great His mercy, his worth

Towards them that fear Him, He knows

Them, and he His love true shows

As far as east is from the west

So our sins gone, we are blest

7.  For He has from us them removed

His goodness to us has proved

Like a father pities children

The LORD pities sons of men

Those that fear Him, He knows our frame

Dust we are, yet praise His name

I've not some 'false humility' wish, with 'we are dust' cropping up again! It's getting dusty round here! It's just that humanity can be referred to in some Scriptures as dust, or worms, or even maggots.
    You a maggot there?!
