Heart Space

FredPeyer

How much can we cram

Into our heart?

How many people, animals

And God knows what else?

Will we know when we cannot

Love one more person

Or animal or thing

Because the heart space is full?

If someone we love dies,

Does that free up space?

Or do the dead keep that

Space occupied forever?

Can we do a spring cleaning

Make a conscious effort

And throw out the ones we

Do not want anymore?

Maybe the heart is like the mind

Ever expanding with no limits

And we don’t have to worry

About enough heart space

Intriguing thoughts here regarding heart-space my friend - - real love comes from the heart and love cannot die so the final stanza says it for me - " ever expanding with no limits" oh what a mystery is the human heart. Excellent read Fred.

Thanks so much for your comment Fay, I was playing around a little bit here. I know we are saying that love comes from the heart, but the heart is just a muscle. The mind is probably more accurate!

Take heart FRED ~ in my experience HEART SPACE is infinite as we still grieve for those killed in LONDON ~ BIRMINGHAM ~ London High Rise ~ Iraq etc etc. GOD is LOVE and his LOVE is infinite ~ We are created in God's likeness ~ a priori our HEART SPACE is also infinite ! So keep you Heart open to the whole World ~ BRIAN

    • FredPeyer

      You are absolutely right Brian!

there you go. you have answered your own question. I really like this one!

Dance to the beat of my drum * heartbeat* well i love this write. So there is more love. Love has no limits. The heart sometimes forgets because the mind likes to fight with the heart and trick it through life. But the heart- to infinity and beyond is that hearts love 💓

      • FredPeyer

I like your expression "infinity and beyond", that is really, really, far!!!! But you are right, love does not have any limits, and I do believe what I wrote, namely that neither the heart nor the mind is bound by any limits, therefore infinite, endless.

Today they measure space in gigabytes and stuff.I think i've got many many gigglebytes left for love in me my friend. Thought provoking piece because as we age so we encapsulate more love.

        • FredPeyer

Love the "gigglebyte", with your permission will use it with my son who is a programmer.

          • burning-embers

Permission readily granted no need to ask.

          • Louis Gibbs

In the final analysis, what else is there to life but love? It is expansive and infinite, as are we. Love this thoughtful and thought-provoking poem, Fred!

            • FredPeyer

Thanks Louis, indeed, what else is there? Maybe a full stomach? Just kidding.

              • Louis Gibbs

The full stomach is a close second.

              • Michael Edwards

Love is infinite - just a shame so many either deny it or are denied it.

                • FredPeyer

So right Michael, it would be great if everybody could open their hearts and let the light in as well as shine it on others.

Immeasurable, as long as we are walking in it (love).

                  • FredPeyer

I believe we are all walking in it, unfortunately some of us don't know it.

You are cute asking those question. I could see a little boy inside you asking those question. I would say that our heart has a way of its on. All we have to do is listen and follow to it. Thanks for this beautiful thought.

                    • FredPeyer

How did you know Malu? My wife always tells me that I will never grow up, so inside this 69 year old body is probably a 7 year old soul. 🙂

                      • malubotelho

I think it is the child inside me that recognize the child inside you. I'm like that too. I use a lot of time by myself wondering about things.
