Cotton candy floss
Sparklers spelling our names
Ornaments decorate my room
Smiles staring back at my face
Daisy chains upon our wrists
Branches crackle beneath our feet
Willow trees intertwining
Sharing the wisdom in our breathing
Our manipulated brains
Gazing up at space
Stars hustle in one place
Unforgivable to mistake
Our thirsty hearts
Wanting to surrender in each others blood
Falling for each others stone
Ready to catch and hold
I’ll circle your heart
Tie it up
Capture it for mine
I’m addicted to the song sung
By our unconventional thirsty hearts

Another lovely poem
Shannon...
Very good girl!!!!!!!
Thank you!
BEAUTIFUL LOVE POEM SHANNON ~ JUST BEAUTIFUL ! I was 17 ~ 17 years ago at the turn of the Century 20th to the 21st anything was possible and all our HEARTS were THIRSTY for LOVE ~ Oh yes I remember it well ~ as if it were Yesterday. I resonated with every nuance in you perfect Poem. In some ways the 21 st C has been a bit of a disappointment (911 ~ Brexit ~ Global Warming etc) perhaps that is because I'm 34 and no longer see the World through rose tinted 17 year old vision. I work with Young People (17 ~ 25) and I thank GOD that (despite everything) they are all up for it and optimistic enough about the future to love and fall in love ! So SHANNON ~ you ~ and your Peers ~ continue to feed your Thirsty Hearts and I'll do the worrying for you ~ AMEN Hugs BRIAN XX
Aww thank you
Shannon, in my humble opinion, this is about as good as it gets. What a beautiful declaration of love. Like the line "Falling for each others stone".
Great writing!
