In the café once more,
Sitting drinking our coffee,
I saw him
Just sitting in the corner,
That man.
He was reading,
Minding his own business,
But he was obviously lost,
Lost in that book.

- Comment from author about the poem: Another poem I wrote in the cafe when I saw this man reading a book. I wrote it and gave it to him. He was bemused.

Sadly, the world is not always ready for our work.
Thank you b-e, we can but try.
I do like this one Goldfinch. You don't know how many times I was that man!
Yes, I could have been that man as well. Thank you Fred.
Sadly not many seem to 'get' poetry - well I do and I love this piece of work
Thank you Michael, much appreciated.
A good book is a great place to get lost in. We've all been to that place. Your poem paints an easily-relatable picture, thanks for sharing.
Thank you Louis. Yes I ahve often become lost in a book.
Aw I love the fact you gave him the poem....such a bold move....love it
Thanks Jooles. I have done it a few times but about children and their mothers, they are much more receptive if you write about their offspring.
Yeah I have z friend who always puts the most awsome one liners on instagram. She posted a pic of her daughter with ....she colours my world. Well...I thought...that's a poem waiting to happen. So a poem I wrote about her little girl including said phrase. She loved it so much she's getting it professionally printed for her room. One of those warm fuzzy moments so I understand where you coming from 😊
