They's a daid Armydilly in the road.
Why he tried to cross that road ...
Nobody ever knowed.
But theys a daid Armydilly in the road.
They's a daid Armydilly in the road.
He thought he 'd try and trust his luck.
He never saw that tractor truck.
They's a daid armydilly in the road.
They's a daid Armydilly in the road.
Miz Armydilly, she's so sad
Little Armydillys done lost their dad
Theys a daid Armydilly in the road.
Theys a daid Armydilly in the road.
But, you know, in nature things ain't all bad
Oh, miz Armydilly she's still sad.
But
Ole Miz Turkey Buzzard up in the sky,
She'z got twinkle in her eye cuz
Theys a daid Armydilly in the road.

WELCOME FRIEND ~ Thanks for your first Poem ~ written and sung as an awesome Folk Song ~ I love TEXAS ~ especially Austin which is a real Cool City ! We don't have ARMYDILLIES in the UK but i have seen them in the USA ~ dead & alive ! We do have buzzards ! What you describe is the FOOD CHAIN which maintains the life cycle of Flora & Fauna on Planet Earth which keeps "Life in Equilibrium" The Native Americans used to be part of the cycle ~ but we have opted out since the Industrial Revolution and kill Armydillies with our Mustangs (FORD) ! We don't eat them but leave it to the Buzzards. Because we are outside the Natural Food chains & webs ~ we disturb the balance of nature and cause Global Warming etc which is slowly destroying the Biosphere ! (Don't tell TRUMP !) I like Country music but the Nashville Sound is a bit smaltzy ~ FOLK MUSIC is much more down to Earth ~ Thanks for sharing ~ more please ! Please check my Poems & Fusion ~ Thanks BRIAN (UK)'.
Brian, I m glad you liked it. i love the UK. When I served as Chief of security for the USAF Tactical Air Command. I had a top notch youg Flt LT from the RAF Regiment on my staff. Or headquarters was near Yorktown, VA. Every year we celebrated two holodays, The Battle 0f Britain and the surrender of Lord Cornwallis. Brian later hosted my wife and I for ten grand days in London and environs. for Thank for the note.
Made my day - great fun and loved the video - might even end up singing it with my grandchildren - I'm sure they would love it.
Thank you for sharing this cute poem to start my morning off right, and welcome to MPS!
