Autumn colours weep
A sodden tear is swept away
Russet leaves jump and leap
But some on the ground just lay.
Red, brown and yellow leaves take over the green
These are the only colours now seen.
The skies are grey; a cloudy expanse
A colour that has no romance.
It rains most Autumn days
The sun shine is pushed away.
Morning frost on grass
On which children play
They laugh and scream
Throughout the day.
The snows don't come until Winter
Yet already it is getting colder
Soon the leaves will be gone
Covered by the Winter snows.

beautifully expressed!!
Thank-you for your comment SMD and taking the time to review.
You are painting a vivid word picture of autumn, I do like it. Brings up memories of the beautiful maple leaf colors every fall in Quebec.
Glad you appreciated this Fred. Thank-you.
Good write, certainly better than the lesson.
Thanks Goldfinch. Thankfully I did take notice in some lessons though. 😉
I used to not enjoy the Fall and Winter, but your poem reminds me how much I love the seasons!
Thanks WBL. So glad that it brings you back good memories of the changing seasons.
