It's Not All About Me

Edward Charles McDevitt

You know us as writers, our minds racing through the day,

Trying to find the right words or a message to convey.

I had thought of something, then my mind went to another,

Do not write about me, try and make it someone other.

So, "How are you, my friends?" and "What is on your mind?",

Not having to think so hard, makes it easier I find.

I'm anxious to see the poems that today, you will write,

It is such a Blessing, that I have found this site!

For I have found such talent and friendly people here,

Poems and Stories that seem true, and very sincere!

I want to thank each of you for sharing all your woes,

And also happy ones, if that's how your story goes.

Everyone writes so differently, which is nice to some degree,

Even if it's a subject that some do not agree.

That what makes us special, we have our own style,

I'll just sit and read, even if it takes a while.

Thanks to all that read and comment on this site.

Ready to appreciate all the poems that you write!

  • Comment from author about the poem: It is really strange, the difference between us all. I was going to do my usual thing and write about myself. Then (as my mind does), I went somewhere totally off the hook! Although not Acrostic, I hope you find today's write enjoyable, and I did. Have a lovely day my friends!

Edward your writing phrases the many ways poets can express on the same subject and render each effort a joy to the reader - thanks a load for this well-crafted and engaging reminder.
