Terrible Trustings

orchidee

'Terrible' is in the sense of 'aweful' here.

Tune: St George's, Windsor)

('Come, ye thankful people, come')

********

Psalm 65 v.1

Praise waits for you, God our King

In Sion to you we sing

Unto you vows performed be

You will hear them and us see

O you, Lord that do hear prayer

You shall save us,we wll far

Unto you shall all folk come

E'en all nations, not just some

Psalm 65 v.5

By terrible things, aweful

You will answer when we call

Shall act in your righteousness

Respond to us, and us bless

You the confidence of all

All the earth, we shall not fall

All on earth, on sea, in sky

Shall trust you, and to you cry

Psalm 66 v.3

Say to God, how terrible

Are you in your works, aweful

Through greatness of your power

Enemies shall hear and cower

And they to you shall submit

For you are Lord, it is fit

That all should come, worship you

Eternal God, good and true

Psalm 67 v.1-2

God have mercy, us do bless

We your great name do confess

Cause your face on us to shine

Radiance of life divine

So that upon earth your way

People shall know every day

And your saving health make known

To all nations, be it shown

Psalm 68 v.35

O God, terrible you are

Great God over all by far

Ever holy, strong, and free

God of Israel you be

Strength and power to your people

You do give unto them, to all

Blesséd be your name for e'er

In your glories we may share

I am still in awe as to how you manage to write a prolific stream of these and all to such great standards.

Thanks M. Well, I'm on to repeating tunes mostly now - though not repeat poems!
