Kingly Kindlings

Tune: Dambusters March

('God is our strength and refuge')

********

Psalm 73 v.25

Whom have I in heaven but you

You God, you only faithful, true

And there is on the earth none

Like you, no, not one

And none other I desire

Come, light my heart with your fire

You my life your holy longings do inspire

Psalm 73 v.26

My flesh and heart do fail me

But God is my strength sure, see

Strength of my heart to sustain

Through temptings, toils, pain

He be my portion ever

Will fail me, disown, never

Joined to Him, naught can us from His love sever

Psalm 76 v.1-2

In Judah, there is God known

There His wonders and power shown

His name great in Israel

His glories we tell

In Jerusalem His tent

His presence true, no relent

His tabernacle in Zion, there we went

Psalm 74 v.19

O God, come save your people

As we unto you do call

Take us as your turtle-dove

Enfold us in love

Save us from wicked schemings

Shine on us your bright beamings

Forget not the poor, bring them to redeemings

Psalm 74 v.12

For God is my King of old

In the earth His works are told

He does work salvation

Unto each nation

Here in the midst of the earth

He acts, we give Him His worth

Blessings on dry souls shall bring an end of dearth

Was actually singing it to the tune as I read this one - but as I am a bit tune deaf I didn't get it to quite fit all the time. My fault not yours I hasten to add..

Thanks M. Oh yes, all sing! I suppose the long line at the end of each verse could be split up into two lines if wished.

Very good write again Orchi. The tune fits very well.

Thanks Gold. I might write one in Greek sometime, as a couple of poets on here do! I know a smidgeon. Though I'm not fluent enough to do whole lines.
