Reaching Nirvana.

Goldfinch60

Into the woods I walk

Walking familiar paths.

I look to the side and see a path

Almost non-existent,

The thought comes to me,

Could this be Frost’s

Road less travelled.

I start along it,

As I walk the path gets wider,

The sky gets brighter,

Life becomes freer.

And with that new-found freedom

Love of life is found,

A new love where peace is everything,

No conflicts to be seen,

Just all helping each other,

Laughter and love abound,

People talk to each other,

All have smiles on their faces.

Have I passed beyond this Earth,

And at last reached Nirvana.

Goldfinch, just had to mark this one as a favorite. If everything on that road is like you describe, you might have reached Nirvana, and I would love it if you could draw me a map!

    • Goldfinch60

So kind Fred, I am honoured. I will try and get uploaded onto sat nav.

      • FredPeyer

Ah thank you, but forget it, I think that road is somewhere inside my head.

Good write Gold. I travelled some paths less - got lost in woods, and over-shot the particular exit where I intended to emerge! Some trees are tilted over like Pisa. It's daft, but I hurry past those ones, thinking they are going to fall at any moment.

The road to sheer bliss and so beautifully described here Gold with both verse and picture. A delight of a read.

        • Goldfinch60

          Thank you so much Fay.

Hey there Finch. Like the tone, keep it up.

          • Goldfinch60

I will endeavour so to do Nicholas. Thank you.

              Thank you very much Michael.

I need map references too M. I'm too busy being lost in these local woods!

                • Michael Edwards

I fed them into my sat nav and ended up at the gents in the local car park - is that right?

                  • orchidee

                    Yes, probably! lol.

                    • Michael Edwards

LoL is right - spontaneous laugh - wife asks what I am I so happy about - tell I'm off to the gents in the local car park - wife gives me a very strange look - should I be worried?

                      • orchidee

Those sat navs give wonky references sometimes. Dunno where you may end up!

                        • Michael Edwards

Down the pan feeling flushed methinks.

                          • Goldfinch60

I may have given out the wrong references or did you turn left instead of right at the place of good intentions.

                            • Michael Edwards

                              Darn it - turned left.

Oh that it were so simple to achieve nirvana. However this tempts the unaware with the road less travelled one hopes. A path we find ourselves walking into freedom and love. Another piece of your excellence sir!

Wish you had dropped some bread crumbs along the way. Your path is beyond my zip code.
This is a classic, Goldie! Thank you for sharing it.

                                • Goldfinch60

You are most kind Louis, I did drop some bread crumbs but the birds that I fed in the garden followed me and ate them.

                                    Alas!

Delightful reading this piece. Long time ago I've begun my path on that road. Little baby steps being taken. I feel much, much better today than 20 years ago.

                                    • Goldfinch60

Thank you mal. Our experience has the ability to take us towards that peaceful place in our minds.

I have some peace and some contentment, but nirvana that's a long bumpy road I'm afraid ... nice writing

                                      • Goldfinch60

Thank wl. That path may be a long bumpy road but we must keep walking it.

                                      • myself and me

Thank you for the hope and guide. Nirvana still exist and there is a path to it.
To me, here is a place close to Nirvana.

                                        • Goldfinch60
