I'LL LET YOU KNOW

Louis Gibbs

John's Memoir

He appeared out of nowhere it seemed.

Asked us to follow him, knew not where.

We were fishermen, my brother and I,

Of a family and friends so engaged.

Just abandon it all and walk away?

Something about him, we couldn't say no.

We wandered far and wide, our numbers grew

Until there were twelve of us, not counting her.

You've already heard how this story ends;

Quite badly for us all, including him.

Was it worth it, would I do it again?

I'll let you know when I see where it goes.

    A fine write L. Well, it did end 'badly' in a way - but how about what followed? One who they followed died then rose again!
    And meanwhile - will you let me know if you got any sherry for me?! heehee.

    • Louis Gibbs

      Thanks, orchidee, and you'll be the first to know!

      Beautifuly written. I could not get the full meaning but I love it the way you wrote it. Maybe you are going to continue writing it?

        Interesting thought, mb! I'll have to consider continuing it. I'll see what my muse has to say about that. Appreciate your comment!

        A personal perspective from John and told with such imaginative talent Louis - vital those days of Christian beginnings and scribed so we never forget "Something about him, we couldn't say no." - the force of divine love never changes. A wonderful read.

          Your remarks are much appreciated, Fay. Thanks!

          "You've already heard how this story ends;
          Quite badly for us all, including him."

          The pain wake up some of us if not all.
          A deep Sunday reflection.

            I don't usually publish on Sundays, but this one seemed timely. Thanks for your thoughtful comment, m&m!

            Very good write, it may have initially ended badly but our belief rose three days later.

              Indeed it did. Thanks, Goldie.

              Love it so far, but will let you know for sure when I see where it goes!

              • Louis Gibbs

                Yes indeed, to be continued ... probably for the duration of our species.
