For Marion & Joan
Two mothers
Now since past
One birth, one adoptive
Both mother’s love is first-class
My birth mother
I never knew
My adoptive mother
Yeah, I miss her too
I feel the need to tell them
I love them so much
Feel their embrace
That maternal touch
I don’t know
The reasons why
Our lives led by destiny or chance
Where we end up by-and-by
But one thing for certain
One thing for sure
Love stays with you
As you feel its signature
A mother’s touch
Of undying love
Within and all around you
Not just from above

AP, your wonderful poem touches on a very important subject. And I am happy to hear you say that you love them both. No birth mother gives up her child easily. There is always a very strong reason. Which means that love has nothing to do with it. They both love you.
My birth mother didn't give me up for adoption. While my birth mother was still under medication effects, a social worker came in and had her sign a form which she was first told was a release to take me home. In fact, it was for her to release me to adoption. She was lied to. But that was almost 61 years ago. I know both my mothers love me, and they both know I love them. Thanks for reading and your comment Fred. ; )

A fine tribute to the mythical mother of pure, unselfish love. Congratulations to those who experienced one.
