GENIUS

Louis Gibbs

Minds that reach beyond this realm

Creating gifts of pure genius

All dance with shades

Of madness.

The fine line between genius and madness? Now, I reckon you had me in mind for one, when writing this. heehee. Good write L.

      Thank you my mad friend!

Thin line between genius and madness. I see it crossed a lot. Thanks for sharing.

      • Louis Gibbs

Indeed, we have seen it crossed a lot! Thank goodness for the gifts it has produced for mankind.

Not sure about madness but I'm called eccentric - and I quite like it but I don't know why ...!

        • Louis Gibbs

I like 'eccentric' too. Much better than 'nuts'! Thanks, Michael.

Lol I liked this poem ...

          • Louis Gibbs

Then you are definitely in suspicion of being mad ... congratulations! Thanks, WL.

            Love your poem, Louis!
And I think you are right, we all must be at least a little bit mad spending untold hours writing and reading poems. Then patting each other on the back for a job well done! But you know what? I like being mad this way! 🙂

            • Louis Gibbs

Wouldn't have it any other way myself! Cheers my mad friend.

I love this new definition about "Genius".
              A "mad" writing.

              • Louis Gibbs

Don't know how new it is, but it seems to fit the poet's state of being quite well. Thanks for your input, m&m!

A little bit of madness is what makes life worth living.

                • Louis Gibbs

                  I concur completely! Thanks, TN96.

I am flattered, indeed! Thanks so much, da.

For me I'm still such a very normal person. But I recognize that if you think you are mad is because you are not. The really, really mad person don't know they are mad. So we are only on the early stage. We still need to work hard. I love your words and got them for me. Brilliant write.

Very true, all geniuses verge on the edge of madness. Good write Louis.

And as some writer who I forget wrote about the pleasures of being mad known only to madmen. Your poem makes me yearn for madness! The happy variety for sure! I know there is a streak of that in me, no matter how subtle: I prefer being alone than being surrounded by hordes of sane people, lol. Thanks for sharing that gem.

                            • Louis Gibbs

Where in the world do you find hordes of sane people? From my observations we are all mad in our own way. I appreciate your kind comment, Seek!

                              • Seek

They are sane because they see themselves that way, lol. They would really get mad if you called them insane and therein lies the insanity.

                                • Louis Gibbs

Like it is said ... If you know you are insane, you probably aren't. It's the ones who think they are sane who are in trouble, as you state. Thanks again, Seek.
