The Lone Poppy.

Goldfinch60

There it grew,

All by itself.

Why was it there?

Was it trying to escape

The horrors of this world?

Was it showing me the way

That loneliness can be good?

Was this poppy leading me,

Leading me to something new?

I may never know

But that lone poppy called to me,

And made me think.

A fine write G/F. A lone one grew in our compost heap I think. We put a potted spider-plant outdoors - then it died off. Aww!

The unusual calls to you, speaks to you. I know this feeling, a dozen questions you'll ask yourself and end up feeling sad for the poppy in itself has a truly wonderful meaning to us all nowadays. And i felt it reading your piece. Thank you.
