My Soul

FredPeyer

Invisible and unmeasurable

Part of me, yet separate

Intimate, yet unfathomable

Gentle guide, always present

Other dimensional, ethereal

Creator of thought & imagination

Imperceptible reality intertwined

With perceived verisimilitude

Pure consciousness

Free from physical manifestation

Indiscernible source of power

Unbound to logic or science

Conveyance of the brightest of lights

Embracing intelligence and love

Seeker of wisdom, courage & strength

Harmonizing with Universal Power

Eternal interface of

Past, present, and future

Vigilant guardian of

The quintessence of ME.

And wonderful it sounds, too, Fred.

There is nothing so profound as 'you' and you ability to know it.

A pleasure and a celebration. Thanks Fred.

    • FredPeyer

      Thanks so much Frank!

Very true Fred. Within us lies our life and that life will go on to eternity.

      • FredPeyer

Thanks for reading, Goldfinch, and yes you are right, we will exist into eternity.

      • Fay Slimm.

So inspiring your definition of the soul Fred - - a mountain of reasons to read its depth over again = a favourite for me and thanks for sharing.

        • FredPeyer

To become a favorite of yours, Fay, is an honor. Thank you!

Looking within is always a learning experience to marvel at. Excellent writing Fred. ; )

Gorgeous words woven together to make the most beautiful patchwork. Dreamy

            • FredPeyer

And a patchwork it is, BlueDays, thank you for commenting!

I learned a new word which no doubt i will promptly forget 'verisimilitude'. In fact your piece, had it not mentioned verisimilitude could be said to contain verisimilitude. I know exactly what you mean. At least in all probability i do. Good writing.

              • FredPeyer

You are absolutely right, d a! Verisimilitude = the appearance of being true or real. The whole poem does have that, but we won't know for sure!

              • Heather T

These verses shine, friend. One of your finest. You took a subject that I think can lean towards cliche and gave it a new voice. Wonderful!

                • FredPeyer

Thanks so much Heather. You are so right. There is a lot of 'cliche' about this subject. Thank you for your kind comment!

                • orchidee

Ooh a very 'psychological' poem Fred. Great descriptions, as we can't physically see our thoughts, emotions, etc. Well, maybe some, such as sorrow expressed in tears, etc.
Ahh, veri-wotsit, long word there! *Looks up dictionary*! Lots of long words in fact!

                  • FredPeyer

Thanks Orchidee! We don't see the emotions, we only see the results! And you know, all you guys write with these 'long words', so I figured I can do that too! 😉

                    • orchidee

They is fine long words you has - not 'alf! A somewhat ungrammatically correct sentence there!

                    • Michael Edwards

Great bit of poetry so well put together, a super work Fred

                      • FredPeyer

                        Thank you so much, Michael!

                      • Louis Gibbs

An interesting word, verisimilitude, used herein from the perspective of conscious mind perceiving the soul. Perhaps the soul perceives the body-mind the same way, you think? Another splendid, thought-provoking poem from your pen, Fred!

                        • FredPeyer

Thank you Louis. No I don't think that the soul perceives the body/mind the same way. The soul is all-knowing whereas we hardly know anything!

                          • Louis Gibbs

                            Point well taken. Thanks.

A poem from a true philosopher. The depth, the dimension, and the function of soul described so accurately in your writing.

                            • FredPeyer

M&M, I am certainly no philosopher! But I do think. I may be right, or I may be wrong, my poem simply describes how I feel about what the soul is. Thank you so much for your comment!
