window shades half open
a warm salty breeze
soft conversations
drift up from the street
smoke from a candle
feather pillows
and lace
spiced wine red apples
cool satin sheets
the touch of lace on
sweet hidden delights
deep velvet music
soft , soulful and blue
cool beads of sweat
like mornings first dew
sleepy dreams fade
from a deep sated sleep
as morning creeps in
through the window
like a thief

Beautiful writing, WL. What comes to my mind with the poem and the painting is a summer morning in the Mediterranean, or maybe South of France. I think it is the painting that prompted the location choice.
I really do like this poem!
Thanks Fred I like the idea of a Mediterranean or southern France location makes this seem more exotic
WL, you paint a pretty picture with your words and paint. ; )
Thanks AP

And the thief steal the dream.
Love the color in the paint.
A beautiful poem to enjoy.
Yes M&M to steal the dream , thanks
They were made for each other - such a great write and love the way you have painted just a portion - almost abstract.
Super relaxing write WL.
