The burnt golds and smoky reds blur into view,
The several shades of green disappear,
Quite like a loneliness I once knew,
It bloomed this summer my dear,
A bitter chill and your sweet scent sail in the breeze,
Shaky breaths and broken words float,
Fearful thoughts are put at ease,
Your whispers carry a musical note,
Puffs of smoke dissipate before my face,
A heavy hand rests on my knee,
Leaves fall to the ground with untimely grace,
We bare all alongside the naked tree,
Cloudless skies, no veil to hide,
The suns rays cannot reach the flesh,
A new chapter reveals our fragile side,
Sharing warmth chest to chest,
Seated on a park bench in my lovers embrace,
Surrounded by a sea of autumn,
Summer forgotten without a trace,
The cold is not a problem
