Tune and Hymn: 'Make me a channel of your peace'
Psalm 118 v.1-9
*******
O give thanks unto the LORD here
Worship Him now with godly fear
Because His mercy endures e'er
And we all in His good things share
Chorus
You are my God and I will praise you true
You are my God, and I exalt you, I do
O give thanks unto the LORD, good is He
And His mercy forever it shall be
Let Israel, house of Aaron, now say
And those that fear the LORD each day
Say, His mercy endures for e'er
And we are blessed, in it we share - Chorus
I called upon the LORD in distress
He answered, did my need address
Brought me forth into a large place
By faith I do now see His face - Chorus
The LORD is on my side, now not fear
Shall I, He will my prayers sure hear
What is it man can do to me
When I you saving hand do see? - Chorus
The LORD, He does act, takes my part
With them that help me, knows their heart
Therefore shall I my desire see
Upon those that hate me, so be - Chorus
It is better to in the LORD trust
Than to confide in man, mere dust
It is better to in Him reside
Than in princes to here confide - Chorus

Yes and Yes.
This was filled with Biblical references from both Psalms and Proverbs. It's nice to read an affirmation of faith in song. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks all.
Very good hymn Orchi.
"Make me a channel of your peace" is a very special hymn to me. In 2005 some of our Church, including me, went to Iona for a week. We had two services every day in the Abbey, we were staying in the Abbey, and in one of the Services that hymn was sung and they gave each of us a straw to remind us of that Channel of peace, I still have that straw in my glasses case.
Iona is very special to me as that is where I was touched by God.
Thanks G/F. Sometimes they muck it up - should we sing the chorus bit after the last verse or not? If only a simple explanation was given before we sing it, we would all know. But no, we bumble on, expected to be mind-readers in some places! Erm, it does help if we're all singing from the same sheet - and the same verses/chorus.
