Thought

FredPeyer

A thought flattened beneath

A thousand others

More important and more

Timely

A thought, not dead

Just barely

Surviving

Hanging on

Faintly hoping to

Be resurrected one day

To be brought back

Into glorious consciousness

A thought given up for dead

Lost in the system

With nobody looking or

Searching for it

But the day will come

When for whatever reason

That thought will be the

Most important of all thoughts

But by then it might be too late

Thoughts can often be misplaced never to be seen again. Good write Fred.

Thanks Goldfinch! Happens to me more and more!!! 🙂

Thoughts about poems but no pen to hand - soon forgotten - I'm there all the time - enjoyed the read Fred

      Thanks so much Michael!

I laughed as I finished reading because it reminds me of how often I lose a thought!!! Good write!

And the thought will be your poem Fred. Keep your notepad handy.

        • FredPeyer

Thanks Frank! I have to admit that I don't carry any notepads around with me. Had some great ideas while driving, couldn't remember a thing by the time I got home!

          • Frank Prem

It's always the way, Fred. Always. So many good poems adrift out there in the ether, for want of pen and paper.

A fine write Fred. Was there ever any thoughts in me head to start with?! Are me lights on, but no one at home?! lol

            • FredPeyer

Thanks Orchidee! There are days where I feel like that exactly! And sometimes even the lights are out!

Know what you mean - on occasions a poem may come from 'nowhere' but then forgotten. No pen and paper to hand.

            • Mugsdaddy

Excellent choice of topics. We all have those moments where the universe aligns all the pieces fall into place and we have these amazing ideas that will change the world. Then we commit them to memory only forget them behind the grocery list or the doctors appointment or... Or... A what was I talking about? Oh yea I need yogurt.

Thanks Mugsdaddy! Yeah, It can get pretty hairy out there in poem thinking land! And if you don't forget, get some yogurt for me too!

Ahhh thats one of those top of the stairs moments isn't it 'now what have i come upstairs for?'

                • FredPeyer

Thanks da! Do you believe in the hereafter?
I do, every time I walk to the bedroom, stand there, and go "what am I here after?"

I had a fleeting thought on a clever response to this poem ... but, alas! You speak for us all, Fred.

                  • FredPeyer

Thank you Louis, great comment, LOL!

My memory sucks I always forget things and never seem to get back thoughts I've had and lost Definitely relate

                    • FredPeyer

Thanks WL, I can relate! Usually have to hold my head sideways so the little bit of brain I have is all in one place!

                    • myself and me

Short lived thought vanished in the universe, no where to find.
Today's thought has been saved here.

                      • FredPeyer

Wouldn't it be great to have a thought memory stick?

                        • myself and me

I am sure there will be one in the future, but even the memory stick is not reliable. If it broken, you would lost all your memories.

                        • lasergraph

Good piece. I have had many thoughts that just died of loneliness.

                          • FredPeyer

Thank you lasergraph, and the older I get the more I seem to loose!
